The Academy provides daily classes in reading, math, life skills, social/vocational skills, art, health and music and offers individualized goals and vocational-exposure opportunities. The organization has steadily grown since the Academy opened in January 2014 and has expanded facilities and programming to increase capacity and community partnerships. Notable achievements

Launched Down Syndrome Academy (2014)

Founded and opened the Down Syndrome Academy on January 6, 2014 as a dedicated post–high-school education program; the Academy expanded from an initial cohort of students to serve many dozens of adults with Down syndrome and provides a full week of classes and life-skill training.

Permanent facility and program expansion

Relocated to a permanent Northwest Houston facility and expanded classroom and vocational programming, enabling the organization to increase enrollment and in-person services following pandemic disruptions.

Sustained program funding and fundraising (2023–2024)

Maintained program operations through a mix of grants, donations and fundraising events; fiscal year 2024 reporting shows roughly $500k in revenue with program services accounting for the majority of expenditures, and the organization continued to receive foundation and workplace-giving support.
