About CORNERSTONES HEALTH

Cornerstones Health is a nonprofit medical education organization based in Los Angeles that designs and delivers continuing medical education and practice-focused resources for clinicians, with a particular emphasis on inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and gastroenterology. Founded by Drs. Marla C. Dubinsky and David T. Rubin, the organization operates global and regional CME-accredited programs, online webinars, and downloadable clinical tools intended to improve clinician knowledge, clinical decision-making, and patient outcomes. In the last three years (2023–2025) Cornerstones Health has continued to run its Best of DDW in IBD program across multiple regions, publish and maintain the Cornerstones IBD Checklist for Monitoring & Prevention (English and Spanish), and deliver immersive/mentored educational offerings for early-career gastroenterologists.

Developed and distributed the IBD Checklist for Monitoring & Prevention (available in English and Spanish), a clinical checklist used by practitioners and referenced in clinical education materials to support routine monitoring and preventive care for patients with IBD.

Best of DDW in IBD series

Operates the annual 'Best of DDW in IBD' program (regional and online formats) that synthesizes major research and practice updates from Digestive Disease Week into CME-accredited updates for clinicians worldwide (events and on-demand webcasts offered 2023–2025).

Immersive early-career education (IBD Xcel)

Delivered an immersive mentorship-style program for early-career gastroenterologists (IBD Xcel) that provides faculty-led, practice-focused training and has reported education outcomes used to inform program improvements.
