About AFRICAN CHILDREN TODAY INC

African Children Today (ACT) is a Minnesota-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that partners with local Ugandan organizations (notably AIM Uganda / the Rakai Orphans Development Initiative) to fund child sponsorships, education and women’s entrepreneurial programs in Rakai. ACT concentrates resources on school tuition, school supplies, basic health care and skills training, and directs donations to local project partners so that donors’ gifts are used in-country. ACT operates a child sponsorship program (primary and secondary sponsorship levels), supports the Hope Again Women artisans cooperative, and helped establish ACT Junior Academy in Rakai to provide longer-term schooling and skills opportunities. The organization maintains an active web presence with regular news/stories and files annual Form 990 returns with the IRS showing continued activity and fundraising in recent years.
