About SAFE AND HEALTHY DUVAL COALITION INC

Safe and Healthy Duval Coalition, Inc. is a Jacksonville-based 501(c)(3) community coalition that operates publicly as Drug Free Duval. The organization focuses on upstream, environment-focused substance-use prevention work, convening partners across public health, transportation, law enforcement, schools, and community groups to reduce substance misuse and overdose. In recent years the coalition has expanded its public-facing prevention and harm-reduction activities, providing community Narcan (naloxone) training and kits, delivering outreach through a mobile “Safety on the Move” education bus, and running fundraising and awareness events to support prevention programming across Duval County.

Launched 'Safety on the Move' mobile overdose-education bus

Established a first-of-its-kind mobile classroom in partnership with the Jacksonville Transportation Authority and regional partners to bring opioid-overdose education and free Narcan kits directly to high-risk neighborhoods, expanding access to training and life-saving supplies.

Ongoing community Narcan training and distribution

Regularly delivers short, practical overdose-recognition and naloxone-administration trainings for community members, schools, faith groups, employers, and first responders and provides free Narcan kits at public events and scheduled outreach stops.

Secured program grants and public contracts to support prevention work

Awarded foundation and government funding (including state and local program contracts and foundation grants) to sustain training, community outreach, and prevention strategy development for Duval County.
