About Rocky Mountain Environmental Golf Institute
The Rocky Mountain Environmental Golf Institute (RMEGI) is the philanthropic arm of the Rocky Mountain Golf Course Superintendents Association focused on advancing sustainability, education and research in turfgrass and golf course management across Colorado.
RMEGI operates as a charitable 501(c)(3) organization that raises funds for university-based agronomic research, industry best-management-practice programs, and annual scholarships for students pursuing careers in turfgrass science and golf course management.
Notable achievements
Research Grants (2023)
Funded university and field research in 2023 on water-use and drought tolerance of various turfgrass species and other applied studies relevant to Colorado course management.
Colorado BMP Adoption Support
Supported development and statewide promotion of golf Best Management Practices and subsequent programs to help facilities claim and implement BMPs for environmental stewardship.
Sustained Scholarship Program
Maintains an annual scholarship program recognizing academic achievement and supporting students entering turfgrass management careers (annual award administered by the RMEGI Board).
