The Texas Nurses District 9 Foundation advances nursing practice, education, research and leadership in the Houston–Galveston area by providing scholarships, research grants, awards, and programs that recognize and support registered nurses and nursing students.

About TEXAS NURSES DISTRICT 9 FOUNDATION

Texas Nurses District 9 Foundation (EIN 26-4369773) is the 501(c)(3) charitable arm associated with Texas Nurses Association, District 9. The Foundation supports nurses and nursing students in an 11-county Houston–Galveston service area through scholarships, research grants, awards, and community-focused programs. The Foundation’s primary public-facing event is an annual Nursing Celebration gala (the 32nd was held in 2024) that honors outstanding nurses, raises funds for scholarships and grants, and engages local health systems and community sponsors. In the last 2–3 years the Foundation continued its scholarship and research grant programs and ran its regular recognition events and donation campaigns to support nursing education and leadership development.

Annual Nursing Celebration

Hosts an annual Nursing Celebration gala (32nd held in 2024) that recognizes outstanding nurses across District 9, raises operating funds, and engages institutional and community sponsors.

Scholarships and Research Grants

Provides recurring scholarships to nursing students and research grants to registered nurses in District 9, distributing awards year-to-year to support education and evidence-based nursing practice.

Nurse Recognition Awards

Maintains established award programs (including lifetime achievement and the Noble Nurse recognition) that highlight career contributions and community service among local nurses.
