About BAY AREA CLEAN AIR FOUNDATION

The Bay Area Clean Air Foundation is a public nonprofit established by the Bay Area Air Quality Management District (Air District) Board to support the District’s mission. The Foundation raises and directs philanthropic and settlement funds to advance incentive projects, community programs, and technical initiatives that reduce air pollution and build community resilience. In recent years the Foundation has focused on programs addressing wildfire smoke and health equity — including funding for high-efficiency home air filtration units for vulnerable households — and on targeted incentive projects that reduce emissions across the Bay Area. It operates as a donor-facing vehicle to accept philanthropic contributions and direct them to Air District priorities and community partnerships.
