Education Foundation of the Forest Lake Area (TEFFLA)

The Education Foundation of the Forest Lake Area (TEFFLA) is a community-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit established to support Forest Lake Area Schools through grantmaking, fundraising, and partnerships. TEFFLA serves the Forest Lake area and surrounding townships north of the Twin Cities and was established following the school district’s strategic planning process to engage the broader community in support of local education.

Since its founding, TEFFLA has focused on awarding teacher and program grants, sponsoring student experiences (including STEAM and space-focused programming), and running an annual fundraising event (Growing TEFFLA / Fund‑A‑Grant) to underwrite projects that enhance student learning and accessibility. In recent years the organization has maintained active fundraising and grant cycles and marked its 15th anniversary activities and ongoing community events.

TEFFLA reports stable, small-foundation finances and local donor support; for the fiscal year ending June 2024 the foundation reported roughly $77,558 in revenue with expenses of about $55,975 and year-end assets consistent with multi-year growth in reserves. The organization operates with a volunteer board, community sponsors, and recurring local donors to sustain annual grant awards.
