Founded in 2009 and headquartered in Massachusetts, Vested Interest in K9s focuses on protecting working K9s by donating NIJ‑certified, U.S.‑made, custom‑fitted ballistic and stab vests and by providing medical support, NARCAN kits, first aid kits and training support for K9 units.
The organization operates national programs that include vest sponsorships, an annual Healthcare for K9 Heroes insurance program, distribution of opioid reversal kits and medically focused equipment and sponsored training; in the last several years it has continued to expand donations and program offerings to K9s in all 50 states.

Thousands of vests donated
Since inception the organization has donated more than 6,200 custom‑fitted ballistic/stab vests to K9s in all 50 states, representing multi‑million dollar value in life‑saving protective equipment.
Widespread distribution of NARCAN kits
Distributed several thousand opioid reversal (NARCAN) kits to eligible agencies to protect both handlers and K9s from accidental opioid exposures during duty.
Healthcare and training investments
Funded annual medical insurance premiums for hundreds of K9s, supplied thousands of medical first aid kits, sponsored professional training seminars and donated patrol vehicles and an advanced canine medical trainer to strengthen field medical readiness.
