GENSPACE NYC
Genspace fosters a safe and inclusive community where all people — including those from non-traditional and underrepresented backgrounds — can experientially learn, boldly create, and meaningfully grow with the life sciences.
About GENSPACE NYC
Genspace is the world’s first community biology laboratory, founded to provide hands-on STEAM education, public programs, and an open-access lab for members, students, artists, and community researchers. Since 2009 the Brooklyn-based nonprofit has run public classes, multi-month internship programs for high school students, artist residencies, and membership-supported lab access to demystify biotechnology and build local workforce pathways. In recent years Genspace has expanded workforce development programming and formal partnerships with city initiatives to increase access to life-sciences careers for New Yorkers from diverse backgrounds.
