NEW YORK HARBOR SCHOOL PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION

The New York Harbor School Parent Teacher Association (NYHS PTA) is the official parent-teacher organization serving the Urban Assembly New York Harbor School (Governors Island / 10 South Street, Slip 7). All parents, guardians, and parental surrogates of enrolled students are members; the PTA organizes fundraising, volunteer coordination, and supports classroom and extracurricular needs to enhance the school’s maritime and CTE programs. In recent years the PTA has been actively fundraising and running community events (including an annual Oyster Classic 5K, an Annual Appeal and a recently launched school gala), maintaining an executive board, and providing direct classroom and student support. The PTA files annual IRS Form 990 series returns (most recently for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024) and reports multi‑year fundraising and program support to benefit students’ hands‑on maritime education and certifications.
