UJAMAA PLACE

Ujamaa Place is a Saint Paul, Minnesota nonprofit that delivers intensive, culturally grounded wraparound services for primarily young Black men (commonly ages 17–29) facing barriers including poverty, unemployment, housing instability, and justice involvement. The organization uses a theory-of-transformation model that centers high-context coaching, empowerment curricula, life-skills training, and connections to education, employment, housing, and behavioral-health supports.

Programs include case management and housing navigation, workforce development and job placement supports, education/GED assistance, and mental/chemical health linkage; Ujamaa Place regularly partners with local government and housing partners (including the City of Saint Paul and HousingLink) on targeted pilots for people returning from incarceration.
