About SO OTHERS MAY LEARN

So Others May Learn is a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that funds comprehensive scholarships for motivated students in rural and low-income communities in Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Scholarships cover tuition, room and board, medical expenses, transportation, uniforms and school supplies and are intended to support students from secondary school through tertiary education when academic standards are maintained. Since its founding in 2008 the organization has sponsored more than 80 students across the three countries and reports that scholarship recipients typically rank in the top 10% of their class within two years of entering secondary school. In recent years So Others May Learn has maintained in-country coordinators (Uganda coordinator in place since 2020) and updated board leadership (board growth and a director transition in 2023–2024) to support program delivery and donor stewardship.
