Homestead Community Development Corporation (HCDC) advances affordable housing, economic development, and local capacity building for families living on or near Hawaiian Home Lands. HCDC focuses on job creation, micro-enterprise support, housing services and technical assistance tailored to Native Hawaiian homestead communities.
About HOMESTEAD COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION
Homestead Community Development Corporation (HCDC) is a Hawaiʻi-based 501(c)(3) community development nonprofit founded in 2009 by the Sovereign Council of Hawaiian Homestead Associations (SCHHA). HCDC is governed by native Hawaiian homestead leaders and develops housing, micro-enterprise assets and community facilities to serve beneficiaries of the Hawaiian Homes Commission Act.
In recent years HCDC has advanced statewide economic-development projects (notably the Anahola Marketplace and associated café and certified kitchen), delivered technical assistance on tiny-home and additional-dwelling-unit approaches, and secured competitive public and philanthropic investments to stand up a homestead-focused loan fund and household stabilization services. The organization is active with state registration, files IRS Form 990 returns, and reports multi-year program and revenue growth supporting on-the-ground development work across Kauaʻi, Oʻahu, Maui/Lānaʻi, Molokaʻi and Hawaiʻi Island.
