About Ovarian Cancer Circle

The Ovarian Cancer Circle is a Los Angeles–based 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2010 as a donor-facing organization to raise funds, increase awareness, and provide education and support around ovarian cancer. The organization was established by Paulinda Schimmel Babbini and operates programs and recurring public events to build community and direct resources to research and clinical partners. The Circle conducts annual fundraising programs (including the "Teal There's a Cure" luncheon, comedy night, and walk/run events), supports clinical research (notably partnership support of UCLA gynecologic oncology initiatives), and runs outreach and symptom-awareness resources for patients, families and providers. In recent years the organization has remained active with sold-out events and multi-year grant and donation activity supporting research and local awareness campaigns.

Notable achievements

Sustained annual fundraising program

Runs a multi-year series of donor events (Teal There's a Cure luncheon, comedy night, 5K walk/run and other community fundraisers) that have consistently sold out and generated operating revenue used to support research and outreach (active events noted for 2022–2025).

Six-figure research support

Has directed major gifts to research partners, including presenting a six-figure check to support ovarian cancer research and contributing to the UCLA G.O. Discovery Lab and affiliated investigators in recent fundraising cycles.

Secured institutional grants and donor support

Placed among recipients of foundation support in the past 2–3 years and secured grants and sponsorships from charitable foundations and corporate partners to expand programmatic and research funding.
