The Mission of Valley Friendship Club is to promote and provide safe, accessible social opportunities while fostering friendships. The organization works to enhance community connections, empower participants to strengthen important life skills, and create greater social independence for children, teens, and adults with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities.

About Valley Friendship Club

Valley Friendship Club (VFC) is a donor-facing 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Stillwater, Minnesota that provides social, educational, and recreational programming for children, teens, and adults with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities. VFC operates an on-site Hub and offers both in-person and virtual programs focused on life and social skills, health and wellness, artistic expression, community volunteering, and seasonal/adventure activities.

In recent years VFC has grown program offerings and community partnerships, expanded fundraising events, and secured foundation and United Way support to scale services. The organization conducts regular member programming (book club, dining club, fitness/yoga, arts, camps and social nights), community events and annual fundraisers to sustain operations and increase accessibility for participants.

Funds for Friends fundraiser growth

Annual Funds for Friends events in recent years have grown significantly; the 2024 fundraiser exceeded $95,000 and the 2025 event exceeded $120,000, providing major operating support for program expansion.

Program expansion and consistent member offerings

VFC expanded both in-person and virtual programming (life & social skills, health & wellness, arts, summer camps and adventure outings), increasing opportunities for sustained peer connections and community participation.

Secured major foundation and United Way support

In the last 2–3 years VFC received multi-thousand-dollar grants from foundations and local funders (including significant support from community foundations and United Way of Washington County–East) that helped stabilize operations and underwrite program costs.
