About DOUGLAS COUNTY VETERANS MONUMENT FOUNDATION
The Douglas County Veterans Monument Foundation (DCVMF) is a Colorado 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 27-2370488) formed to build and preserve the Douglas County Veterans Monument in downtown Castle Rock and to serve local veterans through grant assistance and community programs.
In addition to monument stewardship, DCVMF runs a Veterans Assistance Grant program that offers one-time grants (up to $3,000) to eligible Douglas County veterans for gaps in services such as ADA home modifications, transportation, funeral expenses and other urgent needs.
The foundation is an all-volunteer board that organizes public ceremonies and fundraising events (including an annual VetFest) and partners with county veterans services and local organizations to expand outreach and veteran support.
Notable achievements
Installation of Freedoms Keeper
Placement of the 'Freedoms Keeper' bronze statue and completed monument plaza in downtown Castle Rock, creating a permanent county memorial and gathering space.
Launch/expansion of grant program
Establishment of a Veterans Assistance Grant program offering one-time awards (up to $3,000) to address urgent veteran needs within Douglas County.
Sustained local fundraising and partnerships
