Literacy Action Network is a statewide professional membership organization whose mission is to develop, improve, and expand adult literacy services by coordinating public policy and legislative advocacy, fostering statewide collaboration, facilitating professional development, and supporting quality Adult Basic Education (ABE).
About LITERACY ACTION NETWORK
Literacy Action Network (LAN) is a Minnesota-based, statewide professional membership organization that supports Adult Basic Education (ABE) programs through advocacy, professional development, and statewide coordination. LAN runs member services and events (including an annual Summer Institute), produces toolkits and resources for ABE providers, and convenes advocacy activities such as ABE Day on the Hill / ABE Advocacy Week to connect programs and students with state legislators. In recent years LAN has produced a 2024 impact report, continued to administer Supplemental Services-funded professional development in partnership with the Minnesota Department of Education, and remained actively engaged in statewide workforce, immigration-related, and ABE policy discussions.
