About MENTOR TUTOR CONNECTION
Mentor Tutor Connection (MTC) is a community-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that recruits, trains, places, and supports volunteer tutors and mentors for public schools in Mountain View and Los Altos. Programs include one-on-one tutoring for elementary and middle school students and mentoring for high school students, delivered in partnership with local school districts. Founded as a community/Rotary service project and incorporated as an independent nonprofit (tax-exempt) in 2010, MTC operates an established local programmatic infrastructure and publishes multi-year strategic plans and annual community reports. In recent years the organization has reported placing nearly 200 volunteers who work with more than 450 students annually and documents measured outcomes such as high school graduation and teacher-reported academic gains.
