About THE FIRST TEE OF GREATER HOUSTON INC

First Tee – Greater Houston (an operation of the Houston Golf Association) is a local chapter of the national First Tee network founded to use golf as a vehicle for youth development. Founded in 2004, the chapter delivers age‑appropriate golf instruction integrated with life skills and leadership curriculum to children and teens in the Houston area. The organization delivers in‑school programming, weekly classes at locations including F.M. Law Park and Memorial Park, seasonal camps, tournament series, and teen leadership courses for participants ages 7–18. Local programming emphasizes social‑emotional learning, mentorship, healthy choices, and community engagement while advancing golf skills and competition opportunities. In recent years FTGH has expanded outreach through school partnerships and a capital campaign to transform F.M. Law Park into a dedicated learning hub; the project advanced to a public groundbreaking in June 2026 and FTGH continued to host regional tournaments, leadership events, and community camps through 2023–2026.

Expanded Local Programming

Over the past several years the chapter expanded school partnerships, holiday/summer camps, and its junior tournament series, increasing opportunities for thousands of local youth to participate in character‑building and leadership programs alongside golf instruction.
