About GLOBAL INITIATIVE FOR ECONOMIC SOCIAL AND CULTURAL RIGHTS

Global Initiative for Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (GI-ESCR) is an international human rights NGO headquartered in Minneapolis that works with grassroots partners, networks and institutions to strengthen legal and policy frameworks for economic, social and cultural rights.

GI-ESCR combines participatory research, strategic litigation, capacity-building and international advocacy (including UN treaty body engagement) to influence public policy and support community-led claims for rights in regions including Latin America, Africa and Asia.

The organisation operates as a donor-facing 501(c)(3) and publishes annual reports, strategic plans and public submissions to UN human rights bodies, maintaining an active web presence and regular news updates documenting its recent advocacy and program work.
