About MINNEAPOLIS - ST PAUL REGIONAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PARTNERSHIP (d.b.a. GREATER MSP)
The Minneapolis–St. Paul Regional Economic Development Partnership (doing business as GREATER MSP) is a 501(c)(3) private-public partnership that convenes businesses, governments, universities, philanthropies and nonprofits to grow the 15–county Minneapolis–Saint Paul regional economy. The organization leads coordinated regional strategies, industry cluster initiatives, business attraction and talent programs to advance inclusive economic opportunity. In recent years GREATER MSP has expanded coalition-led initiatives—including Minnesota MedTech 3.0 and MBOLD—while operating talent and place-based programs such as ConnextMSP and the Center Cities Partnership. GREATER MSP regularly publishes regional indicators and works with public and private partners to attract large capital projects and federal/state partnerships that produce jobs and investment across the region.
Notable achievements
U.S. Tech Hub designation — Minnesota MedTech 3.0 (2023)
GREATER MSP led the Minnesota MedTech 3.0 coalition that secured designation as a federal Tech Hub for medical technology, positioning the region to scale smart medical-device innovation, data-enabled research and public-private investment.
MBOLD coalition & Protein Catalyst (MBOLD initiatives, 2020–2025)
As the host of MBOLD, GREATER MSP convened major food and agriculture companies and research institutions to launch programs that accelerate protein innovation, support food-system sustainability, and scale entrepreneur support and market access for regional food companies.
Major project and investment wins (2024–2026)
GREATER MSP helped secure and publicize multi-stakeholder investments and site wins for the region—examples include support for strategic projects and infrastructure that contributed to announcements such as a major aerospace research and testing complex and other large private-sector expansions and data center investments.
