HEPATITIS C MENTOR AND SUPPORT GROUP INC
The Hepatitis C Mentor and Support Group empowers individuals and communities affected by Hepatitis C (HCV) — including people co‑infected with HIV — by providing education, supportive services, and tools to help manage and overcome HCV. The organization is dedicated to eliminating Hepatitis C and addressing healthcare inequities through partnerships with syringe service programs, clinics, hospitals and community‑based organizations.
About HEPATITIS C MENTOR AND SUPPORT GROUP INC
Founded in 2010 and organized as a 501(c)(3) with an IRS ruling in 2011, the Hepatitis C Mentor and Support Group (HCMSG) provides trainings, peer support models, educational materials and community outreach for people living with HCV and those co‑infected with HIV. HCMSG works directly with community partners — including syringe service programs, clinics and hospitals — to deliver bilingual training, facilitator guides, webinars and the organization’s peer‑led “Circle Model.” In the past 2–3 years HCMSG has been active in local policy and program work (including testimony to city officials), expanded program evaluation and submitted its Circle Model for formal program assessment, and sustained grant‑supported programming from pharmaceutical and municipal funders. The organization positions lived experience and peer mentorship as central to HCV screening, linkage to care, treatment uptake, and stigma reduction.
