PROJECT ROUSSEAU INC

Project Rousseau is a New York–based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides holistic supports to underserved young people (ages 0–26) through four program pillars: Student Needs, Academics, Broadening Horizons, and College Success. The organization combines one-to-one mentoring and academic interventions with practical supports (housing, enrollment, immigration assistance) to stabilize students and increase college readiness. In response to recent migration flows into New York City, Project Rousseau has expanded immigrant services and legal support; it is currently providing full-scope legal representation and broad non-legal assistance to newly arrived families and students. Financially the organization has grown into a mid-sized nonprofit (reported revenue and assets increased in filings through 2024), enabling expanded staffing and program delivery across NYC and select partner communities. Project Rousseau also runs international exchange partnerships and a College Success program that supports first-generation matriculated students through financial aid navigation, academic mentoring, and career preparation, and it operates a paid-mentor model on the Oceti Sakowin serving rural Native communities.
