About SPHERE ENSEMBLE
Sphere Ensemble is a 14-member Denver-based string ensemble (violins, violas, cellos, bass) that blends classical, baroque, and popular genres to broaden the reach of string music and expand the boundaries of classical performance.
In addition to public concerts and recordings, Sphere runs community outreach and education programs that bring live, high-quality ensemble music into underserved settings and foster creative participation.
Sphere is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN: 27-4613778) focused on audience development, composer representation, and sustained partnerships with local social-service and youth organizations.
Notable achievements
US Premiere: Chamber Symphony
Presented the U.S. premiere of Geghuni Chitchyan’s Chamber Symphony (September 2022), demonstrating commitment to underrepresented composers and new/revived repertoire.
Gilliam Residency & Recordings
Completed a November 2024–April 2025 residency at Gilliam Youth Services that produced 24 classes, three full-ensemble concerts, and three polished student recordings created and released with the ensemble.
Recorded Releases and Press Coverage
Released multiple albums (examples include Divergence, Cross Section, Stay at Home for the Holidays) and received regional press attention that highlighted Sphere’s genre-bridging programming.
