About Homeward Alliance
Homeward Alliance (formerly Homeless Gear) is a Fort Collins, Colorado nonprofit that operates a continuum of services — including a day shelter and coordinated resource hub — to help people survive immediate crises, secure stable housing, and advance toward long-term stability.
The organization is a verified 501(c)(3) (EIN 27-4641606) and serves families, adults and seniors through housing-focused case management, employment and re‑entry supports, basic-needs services, and regional systems leadership.
In the last 2–3 years Homeward Alliance has expanded system-level work (serving as HMIS lead and leading a Larimer County strategic planning project), continued direct-service work at the Murphy Center, and published measurable 2023 service outcomes showing hundreds of people housed and thousands of basic-needs supports delivered.
Notable achievements
State THR grant to lead Larimer strategic plan
Awarded a Colorado Transformational Homeless Response (THR) grant (2023) to lead development and implementation of a Larimer County strategic plan; project progressed through 2024–2025 with implementation planning underway.
2023 service outcomes
In 2023 Homeward Alliance recorded multi-site impact including serving roughly 2,100 unduplicated individuals at the Murphy Center, helping about 385 people (including family members) escape homelessness, and delivering thousands of basic-needs services (e.g., 5,600+ loads of laundry).
HMIS lead & regional coordination
Serve as the HMIS lead agency for the Northern Colorado Continuum of Care and provide technical and strategic leadership across Larimer and Weld counties to improve regional homelessness response and data-driven planning.
