SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA GOLDEN RETRIEVER RESCUE

Southern California Golden Retriever Rescue (SCGRR) is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) rescue based in Los Angeles dedicated to rehabilitating and rehoming Golden Retrievers, Golden mixes, and similar breeds. The organization places dogs in foster homes for medical care, temperament assessment, training and socialization prior to adoption. SCGRR operates at scale for a breed-specific rescue — publicly reporting the placement of roughly 200–400 dogs per year (commonly cited as about 300 dogs annually) and describing itself as one of the largest Golden Retriever rescue organizations in the country. The rescue publishes annual reports and tax returns and reports that the majority of donor dollars go directly to the medical care and placement of dogs. In recent years SCGRR has continued regular operations (including fundraising events such as Goldie Palooza), maintained international rescue partnerships to bring at-risk Goldens into Southern California, and filed Form 990s and annual reports through the 2024 fiscal year, demonstrating ongoing activity and financial reporting.
