About REHEARSAL CLUB

The Rehearsal Club is a New York–based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that preserves the historical legacy of the original Rehearsal Club (founded 1913) while operating a contemporary residency and membership program to support young women pursuing careers in theater, film and related performance professions. The organization combines affordable/subsidized housing, mentorship, workshops and partnership programming with cultural institutions and industry organizations to help residents develop practical skills and professional networks. Its leadership includes a volunteer board and a roster of honorary alumnae and advisers drawn from well-known performers and industry professionals. In recent years TRC has re-established active programming and fundraising, secured grant support and partnerships with arts organizations, and in July 2025 announced a move into a renovated multi-story brownstone to house its residency activities and expanded member programming.

Notable achievements

Reestablished residency and new dedicated home

In mid-2025 The Rehearsal Club completed a move into a renovated four‑story brownstone to serve as a dedicated residential home for its subsidized residency program, marking a major operational milestone in restoring on-site sanctuary and programming for young performing‑arts women.

Recent financial growth and sustainability

The organization reported positive operating results in its most recent fiscal year (fiscal year ending June 2025), with total revenue of approximately $188,818 and net assets of roughly $302,416, supported by individual gifts and foundation grants that expanded program capacity.

Active programming and resident outcomes

TRC has run workshops, masterclasses and public presentations and supported resident work—examples include residents presenting work at Joe’s Pub and participating in masterclasses and casting partnerships—demonstrating direct program impact on career development.
