About Children First
Children First is a data‑informed, cross‑sector cradle‑to‑career partnership serving Hopkins, St. Louis Park, Golden Valley and surrounding communities in the Twin Cities metro area. The organization convenes families, schools, nonprofits, businesses and local government to close opportunity gaps and improve outcomes across five-to-seven child development milestones (kindergarten readiness through post‑secondary completion).
Children First runs community programs (Early Years Action Network, Latino Parents Empowerment Group, Bilingual StoryTime), youth leadership (Youth For Change Coalition) and community‑wide initiatives (annual Summer Reading Festival, Champions Breakfast fundraiser), and serves as a local member of national and state partnership networks that support collective impact and results‑driven strategies.
The organization maintains an active public presence with regular events, volunteer opportunities, strategic planning documents and community-facing materials; it is positioned as a donor‑facing nonprofit with an active fundraising and volunteer engagement program.

Community literacy and early‑years programming
Produces the annual St. Louis Park Summer Reading Festival and year‑round Bilingual StoryTime and Latino Parent Empowerment programming to increase kindergarten readiness and family engagement in early literacy.
