TARGET HUNGER

Target Hunger is a Houston-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit (founded 1989) that provides direct food assistance and community-based services to people facing food insecurity across Houston. The organization operates brick-and-mortar and mobile pantries, Food Fairs, a home-delivery program, summer feeding for children, community gardens, and emergency disaster distributions. Target Hunger pairs food distribution with a Navigation Program staffed by Community Health Workers to connect clients to benefits, housing resources, employment supports, and other services that address root causes of hunger. In recent years the organization has expanded its Community Partner Program and disaster-response distributions to reach more neighborhoods in southeast Houston. Target Hunger maintains regular fundraising events and public-facing donor programs and files public Form 990s; in 2025 it reported providing food to over 25,000 individuals (more than 9,200 households) and continues to receive substantial in-kind and donated resources to support its programs.
