About Community Foundation of the Gunnison Valley
CFGV is a community foundation serving the Gunnison Valley (formed in 2007 from the merger of two local foundations) that helps donors and nonprofits build permanent funds, distribute grants, and strengthen local nonprofit capacity.
The Foundation operates donor services (donor-advised funds, endowments, scholarships), competitive community grant cycles, and nonprofit capacity-building programs while acting as a local convener and steward of long-term philanthropic resources.
CFGV maintains audited financial statements and IRS Form 990s publicly, meets the National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations, and pursues a strategic plan focused on supporting nonprofits, inspiring philanthropy, and sustaining organizational capacity.
