About Highlands Ranch Cultural Affairs Association
Founded in 2001 as a cultural arm of the Highlands Ranch Community Association (HRCA), the Highlands Ranch Cultural Affairs Association (HRCAA) organizes public arts, performance, and education programming for Highlands Ranch and northern Douglas County.
HRCAA operates as an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) subordinate organization to HRCA and programs are funded in part by the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD), community partners, and local sponsorships.
In recent years (2023–2025) HRCAA has produced 40+ free and low-cost events annually, maintained an annual summer concert series, led public art projects (including participation in the regional Art Encounters sculpture program), and piloted visible community art initiatives such as utility-box wraps and permanent installations at recreation centers.
Notable achievements
Regional Art Encounters participation
HRCAA hosted rotating sculptures as part of the Douglas County Art Encounters program (examples include the June 2024–May 2025 exhibition cycle), raising public awareness and foot traffic to local public spaces.
Expanded public art collection
Developed and installed multiple permanent artworks in HRCA recreation centers and supported a pilot program wrapping traffic control boxes with artwork to beautify public roadways and increase community identity.
Sustained free programming
Continues to fund and present dozens of free and low-cost events annually (40+ events per year), including multi-week summer concert series and seasonal community celebrations, supported in part by SCFD funding and local partners.
