The Center convenes partners to develop and implement innovative solutions that improve access to care and workforce diversity.

About COLORADO CENTER FOR NURSING EXCELLENCE

The Colorado Center for Nursing Excellence (founded 2002) is a statewide nursing workforce center headquartered in Denver that partners with education and clinical organizations to strengthen Colorado’s nursing pipeline. The Center runs training, fellowship and residency programs (including nurse refresher courses, behavioral-health and geriatric workforce initiatives, and specialty fellowships) and publishes workforce analyses used to inform state planning.

In recent years the Center has published multi-year impact reports and workforce snapshots (including a 2023 Healthcare Workforce Snapshot and 2024 Demand & Supply Analysis), continued competitive federal training grants, and expanded programs focused on rural and underserved communities and workforce diversity. The organization operates a donor-facing Nursing Student Success Fund and convenes more than 175 clinical and educational partners across the state to improve access to care.
