About CRITTER BARN

Critter Barn is an educational, donor-facing farm nonprofit in Zeeland, Michigan that delivers hands-on agricultural education, public farm visits, and outreach programs. The organization operates an accessible farm campus designed with Universal Design principles and a traveling "Farm on the Go!" program that brings animals and lessons to schools, community events, retirement homes, and other local venues.

Each year Critter Barn reports large program reach: thousands of students attend farm classes and field trips, the traveling program reaches tens of thousands, and the farm hosts tens of thousands of visitors on site. The organization completed Phase 1 of a new farm site plan with modern barns, inclusive playground and accessible pathways to expand educational and engagement capacity.

Farm on the Go! outreach

Delivered 115 traveling farm visits in a recent year, reaching over 40,000 people at schools, community events, retirement homes and other venues across West Michigan.

New farm development — Phase 1 complete

Completed Phase 1 of a multi-phase new farm site plan that added modern barns, heated restrooms, larger classrooms, paved accessible pathways and infrastructure to increase classroom capacity and animal housing while improving accessibility.
