About WESTERN ASSOCIATION OF STUDENT FINANCIAL AID ADMINISTRATORS

The Western Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (WASFAA) is a volunteer-led regional professional association serving financial aid professionals across Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii and the Pacific Islands, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington. WASFAA provides training, conferences, leadership development programs, and advocacy to strengthen practitioners’ ability to support student access to postsecondary education. WASFAA is an established organization with a multi-decade history (founded in the early 1960s) and an active membership community of more than 1,000 professionals. In the last 2–3 years (2023–2025) the association has continued regular programming — including its Annual Conference, Summer Institute, leadership institutes, webinars, and regional awards — and maintained a strategic plan guiding activities through 2025. The organization is a publicly recognized 501(c)(3) entity (EIN 33-0009083) and operates as a donor-facing, member-based professional association with an active web presence, archived awards and conference records, and ongoing training and advocacy work for the region it serves.
