About 29 PIECES

29 PIECES is a Dallas-based 501(c)(3) arts nonprofit founded in 2005 by artist Karen Blessen and Dr. Barbara Miller. The organization develops large-scale public art projects, murals and an evidence-informed, bilingual arts education curriculum called Artists Making a Kinder World to teach social-emotional learning through hands-on art.

29 PIECES reports sustained reach and community impact: its Artists Making a Kinder World curriculum has reached over 250,000 students and about 1,600 educators, and the group produces citywide and national campaigns (Love Projects) alongside permanent public sculptures (the "Pieces"). In recent years the organization launched The American Love Project (2021–2022) and The Planet Earth Love Project (created in early 2025) and continues partnerships with local schools and civic partners to deliver programs and exhibits across the region.
