United for Change Center for International Development & Global Citizenship (also known as United4Change Center or U4C) is a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 35-2385293) headquartered in Houston, Texas that advances social justice, women’s economic empowerment, and community-led peacebuilding across Latin America, Africa, and other regions. U4C implements empowerment, entrepreneurship, water-and-sanitation, and humanitarian-response programs in partnership with local organizations and international partners; recent work (2022–2024) has included projects in Kenya, Bolivia, Guatemala, Colombia and Argentina. The organization operates a Fair Trade marketplace to expand market access for products made by women-led microenterprises and sustains community-level self-help groups, trainings, and technical assistance designed to increase household income, leadership capacity, and local resilience.

Notable achievements

Kisumu women’s empowerment & entrepreneurship

Implemented an Empowerment & Entrepreneurship program in Kisumu, Kenya that sustained roughly 20 self-help groups (SHGs) and supported about 100 women graduates; SHGs developed micro-savings and business plans and the initiative helped incubate more than 20 women-led microenterprises.

Water4All installations in Bolivia

Installed or upgraded gravity-fed safe-water systems in multiple Indigenous Andean communities, reaching more than 1,200 residents and training local operators in system maintenance, hygiene, and stewardship to improve long-term water access and public health.

Humanitarian relief for Venezuelan migrants (Colombia)

Delivered large-scale emergency food assistance along migration routes, supplying thousands of hot meals and short-term relief to displaced families and migrants while sourcing food from local producers to support nearby economies.
