About QUATREFOIL LIBRARY
Quatrefoil Library is a volunteer-run LGBTQIA+ library and community center in Minneapolis founded in 1986. It maintains a large circulating collection (more than 15,000 books and several thousand audiovisual items) and positions itself as one of the oldest circulating LGBTQIA+ libraries in the United States. In the last 2–3 years Quatrefoil has moved from pandemic-era restrictions back to an expanded in-person program schedule, eliminated membership fees to offer free Q Cards, launched Q Digital (a free e-book and audiobook platform for Q Card holders), expanded partnerships with platforms such as OverDrive and Libro.fm, and continued community programming, book sales, and an annual scholarship program. The organization reports sustained community engagement (roughly 2,500 visitors reported in 2022), returned in-person readings and events, and ongoing efforts to diversify and grow its collection and digital offerings.
