About CHRISTIAN CUPBOARD EMERGENCY FOOD SHELF

Christian Cupboard Emergency Food Shelf (legal name) operates under the public-facing brands Open Cupboard and Today’s Harvest to deliver emergency food assistance and rescued fresh food to residents of Oakdale and neighboring communities. The organization runs walk-in markets, drive-up and delivery services, mobile food shelves, and a food-rescue program that supplies fresh produce, dairy, meat, and bakery items. Open Cupboard/Today’s Harvest emphasizes a low-barrier, customer-centered model (no intake registration required) and multilingual access. In recent years the organization has expanded its market-style Today’s Harvest model to multiple locations and increased its food-rescue and distribution capacity, serving hundreds of shoppers daily and operating year-round hours to maximize access.

Notable achievements

Decades of continuous service

High-volume food rescue and distribution

In recent years the Today’s Harvest/Open Cupboard model scaled substantially, reporting over one million individual visits in a recent year and rescuing more than 2.3 million pounds of food in that year.
