About INSTITUTE FOR AGRICULTURE AND TRADE POLICY
The Institute for Agriculture & Trade Policy (IATP) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Minneapolis that conducts research and policy advocacy to promote healthy, fair and sustainable food, farm and trade systems. IATP combines research, collaboration with social movements and policy change work at state, federal and international levels to advance agroecology, community food systems, climate solutions and equitable trade governance. In recent years IATP has remained active in state and federal policy debates and regulatory comment processes, published substantial analysis and reporting, and supported community food-system investments—including work that helped secure increased state funding for community food systems in Minnesota in 2025 and high-volume public engagement and media coverage of its research and policy recommendations.
