About Golden Gate Park Band

The Golden Gate Park Band (GGPB) is a historic, donor-facing 501(c)(3) arts organization that presents free, professional wind-band concerts at the Spreckels Temple of Music in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. The organization performs an annual season (April–September) of weekly concerts and special holiday programs that highlight classical, popular, cultural, and community-focused repertoire. Reorganized by its musicians as a nonprofit in 2022 and operating with recognized tax-exempt status, the Band partners with the San Francisco Recreation & Parks Department and collaborates with local cultural groups, guest soloists, and community ensembles. Under Music Director Dr. German Gonzalez (appointed as Music Director in 2024), the ensemble continues to emphasize accessibility, cultural programming, and audience engagement while maintaining the Band’s long-standing public service role in the city.
