GRAND RAPIDS CIVIC THEATRE INC

Established in 1926, Grand Rapids Civic Theatre & School of Theatre Arts is one of the oldest and largest community theatres in the United States, operating the historic Meijer Majestic Theatre complex in downtown Grand Rapids. The organization produces multiple mainstage seasons each year, operates an award-recognized School of Theatre Arts that serves youth through adult students, and sustains a large volunteer base that supports productions and education programs. In the last 2–3 years Civic has continued active seasonal programming (including community‑theatre premieres and accessibility initiatives), expanded education and summer camp offerings for children and teens, and maintained outreach such as school tours, a Traveling Troupe, and relaxed/ASL/audio‑described performances to increase access. The theatre describes itself as a community hub producing high-quality performances while training and engaging local artists and more than a thousand students annually.
