Grand Rapids Ballet is Michigan’s only professional classical ballet company. Under the artistic leadership of James Sofranko (installed 2018), the company fields a corps of approximately 20 professional dancers plus apprentice and trainee programs and presents a multi-title season at the company’s Meijer‑Royce Center for Dance / Peter Martin Wege Theatre and at DeVos Performance Hall, frequently collaborating with the Grand Rapids Symphony, Frederick Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park, and the Grand Rapids Art Museum.
The organization operates a full-service school serving children and teens (ages 3–19), a Junior Company and trainee pathway, summer intensives, community outreach including school field-trip programs and adaptive classes such as Moving with Parkinson’s.
