Alternative Directions is a community-based program serving Michigan DOC probationers, parolees and other clients in the criminal justice system. Its priority is to help offenders lead successful, crime-free lives by providing a safe, structured and supervised environment, transitional housing, case management and reentry supports.
About ALTERNATIVE DIRECTIONS
Alternative Directions is a Grand Rapids–based 501(c)(3) community corrections organization that has operated residential and reentry programs since 1979 and received tax-exempt status in the early 1980s. It provides supervised residential probation, transitional housing, cognitive behavioral treatment, GED preparation, substance-abuse testing/collection and resource navigation in partnership with local and state agencies.
