United Church Outreach Ministry (UCOM) is a Wyoming, Michigan-based 501(c)(3) community service organization that operates a client-choice Healthy Choice Food Pantry and a range of complementary programs (community gardening, farm stand, nutrition and financial education, clothing services) to meet basic needs and promote long-term wellness. Scale of Food Assistance (2024)

In 2024 UCOM’s Healthy Choice Food Pantry served several thousand unique individuals and delivered tens of thousands of client visits (multiple shopping visits per client), providing the equivalent of hundreds of thousands of meals and substantially increasing the organization’s year-over-year program reach.

Growing Green / Community Garden Expansion

UCOM’s Growing Green Neighbors and garden initiatives expanded access to fresh produce by providing on-site and community garden plots and home raised-bed support for over 100 neighbors, together with monthly garden meetings and nutrition education to support food security and community resilience.

Leadership and Facility Capacity Work

UCOM completed a multi-year capacity-building effort that included a capital campaign to secure and improve its current facility and a planned executive leadership transition after more than two decades under a long-term executive director, maintaining program continuity while preparing for organizational growth.
