The Grand Rapids Public Museum Foundation raises and stewards philanthropic support and endowment funds to sustain the Grand Rapids Public Museum’s exhibits, educational programs, community engagement, and long‑term operations.
About GRAND RAPIDS PUBLIC MUSEUM FOUNDATION
The Grand Rapids Public Museum Foundation is the fundraising and endowment steward for the Grand Rapids Public Museum (GRPM). It solicits and manages philanthropic support that underwrites exhibitions, K–12 school programs, public education initiatives, and capital improvements. In recent years the Foundation has driven a major capital campaign (Expanding Curiosity) to fund a multi‑phase riverfront expansion and building upgrades that will increase accessibility, refresh core exhibits, and expand the Museum’s capacity for learner programs. The Foundation’s financial stewardship has substantially grown the Museum’s long‑term assets, enabling both daily operations and strategic investments in community‑facing education and interpretation. The Foundation works in partnership with the City of Grand Rapids (which owns the Museum property), major regional funders, and local community partners to advance the Museum’s role as a public learning center serving students, families, and visitors across West Michigan.
