About NORTHVIEW EDUCATION FOUNDATION

The Northview Education Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit that partners with Northview Public Schools and the local community to fund classroom grants, scholarships, and district enrichment projects. It is governed by a volunteer board of parents, alumni, teachers and local business leaders and operates with a small paid executive staff. In recent years the NEF has continued regular fundraising events (example fundraisers include a community golf outing and the “Spooky Sprint”) and grant cycles; the Foundation’s site reports that since 1990 it has distributed more than $550,000 through hundreds of grants and scholarships. Public filings for fiscal year 2024 show modest annual revenue (approximately $51k) and active net assets consistent with an ongoing local education foundation.

Notable achievements

Longstanding grantmaking (since 1990)

Since 1990 the Foundation reports distributing over $554,000 in grants and scholarships to Northview students and staff, delivered through hundreds of awards across classrooms and programs.

District technology and lab funding

Historically the NEF has provided targeted technology investments to the district, including approximately $40,000 to district technology initiatives and a $17,000 contribution to a Crossroads Middle School computer lab.

Sustained community fundraising

The Foundation runs recurring community fundraisers (for example a golf outing and a timed family event) that both raise unrestricted funds and engage alumni, parents and local businesses in support of classroom-level innovation.
