About FAMILY PROMISE OF GRAND RAPIDS

Family Promise of Grand Rapids (doing business as Family Promise of West Michigan) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides prevention, diversion, shelter, stabilization, and housing services for families with children experiencing or at risk of homelessness in the Grand Rapids / West Michigan region. In the last 2–3 years the organization expanded program capacity through the launch of a Family Resource Center, purchase and renovation of the Wyoming Park Family Shelter, and acquisition of manufactured-home communities to preserve affordable housing. Family Promise works through an Interfaith Hospitality Network of congregations, community partners, and volunteers to deliver short-term shelter, targeted diversion services, case management, and early-childhood supports. Recent impact reporting notes hundreds of families diverted from shelter and thousands of children served annually; the organization also highlights low shelter recidivism among program exits and community partnerships for volunteer support and health-care referrals.
