About Great Lakes Center for Education Research and Practice

The Great Lakes Center for Education Research and Practice is a Grand Rapids, Michigan–based education research and policy organization (501(c)(3)) that produces policy briefs, research reviews, and practitioner-oriented resources to inform K–12 education policy. The Center operates as a small think tank funded largely through contributions and subscriber support and maintains an active program of policy briefs and weekly commentary on contemporary education issues.

In the last 2–3 years the Center has published multiple policy briefs and press releases on topics including artificial intelligence in schools, education savings accounts and vouchers, school finance, virtual schools, and school safety; it maintains regular outreach to state education associations and other education stakeholders.
