About JEWISH FEDERATION OF GRAND RAPIDS
The Jewish Federation of Grand Rapids is a donor-facing 501(c)(3) community federation that strengthens and unites the Jewish community in Grand Rapids, supports Jewish life in Israel, and funds programs around the world. The organization serves as an umbrella funder and convener for local synagogues, agencies and community programs, directing philanthropic resources into social services, youth and family programming, cultural events and emergency relief. In the last 2–3 years the Federation has continued to run its Annual Campaign, administer scholarship programs (including a named summer-camp scholarship), expand cultural programming such as the annual Jewish Film Festival, and sustain Partnership2Gether links with Israeli partners. The organization maintains an active web presence and ongoing community programming aimed at engagement, education, and emergency support for Jewish communities locally and abroad. Founded in the mid-20th century and operating continuously since then, the Federation combines fundraising, grantmaking and program delivery to preserve Jewish identity, respond to urgent needs, and build community infrastructure for future generations.
